Josep Maria Miró

(Vic, 1977)

A graduate in stage directing and playwriting from the Institut del Teatre and in journalism from the UAB. He is the author of Smoke, Nerium Park, Archimedes’ Principle, Gang Bang and La dona que perdia tots els avions, among others. He has received over a dozen awards for his plays, including the prestigious Born Prize, which he has won twice. His texts have been premiered in different countries including Argentina, Mexico, the UK, Russia, Croatia, and Puerto Rico, and staged readings of them have been offered in Italy, France (Paris, Normandy, Mousson d’Êté and La Comédie Française) and Russia. He is also the author of different dramatic productions: Esperança Dinamita, 5 contes diferents, Cocaïna, absenta, pastilles de valda i cafè amb llet and El dia que vaig conèixer Harold Pinter. He has directed texts of his own and has been assistant director to Xavier Albertí, Xavier Pujolràs and choreographer Germana Civera. Since 2013, he has been a member of the TNC’s reading committee.
