Maria Garalve

Maria Garalve is an actress, playwright and director born in Mallorca and professionally trained in Barcelona. She is the current winner of the Llorenç Moyà Prize for Dramatic Works with her play Les llibreteres and has premiered her debut play, La Mala Dona, under the direction of Marina Gatell. She has also premiered the acid comedy Fastpass and the dramatic work IAIA, winner of the Best Text Award from Òrbita Editorial. She has also made forays into the world of performance with Fugir at the Museu Picasso in Barcelona, Negre sobre Negre at the Toni Catany International Centre of Photography with works by Miquel Barceló and Al·legoria de la vista i l’olfacte at the Museu de Mallorca. Her involvement in the world of acting has also led her to act in various theatrical and audiovisual projects on a national and international scale. With a youthful gaze focusing on the present, Garalve seeks to highlight the value of the written word and of the most everyday and extraordinary stories that at some point it was decided would be silenced.
