Markos Goikolea Unzalu

(Pamplona, 1989)

In theatre, he is the author of No he estat mai a Dublín, premiered in Basque at the Teatro Principal in Donostia and in Spanish at the Teatro Pavón in Madrid. It has also premiered in Mexico, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Colombia, Uruguay and in Argentina, where it received the ACE Award for Best Comedy of the Year.

He wrote El síndrome del norte, a play developed at the 13th SGAE Playwriting Laboratory and published in the Teatro-Autor collection.

He is also the author of short pieces such as Beren Izenez (Royal Academy of the Basque Language Award) and Destiny Driver (Tartean Award, Kriselu Award and Lezo Award).

He has accompanied performer Sergi Casero in the dramaturgy of the shows No pares (sigue, sigue) (Théâtre de la Ville, Paris) and Trola (Kunstenfestivaldesarts).

In the audiovisual field, he is the screenwriter of the documentary Inside Tania’s Head, directed by Kike Maíllo. He is the creator of the series Candidatos, selected at the Serielizados Kick, and Besneta de Gaudí, selected for the GAC screenwriting grant.

He is also a teacher on the ESCAC’s Master’s Degree in Screenwriting.
