María Velasco

National Prize for Dramatic Literature 2024. Her texts have been translated into eight languages and have earned such accolades as the Heidelberger Stückemarkt International Prize and the Max Award for Best Theatrical Authorship. The compilation Parte de Lesiones (published by La uña rota) includes some of her most significant titles.
In recent years, she has written and directed La espuma de los días (Teatro Español, 2019; Teatre Lliure, 2020); Talaré a los hombres de sobre la faz de la tierra (38th Autumn Festival/Sala Beckett, 2022); Amadora, in collaboration with singer Tulsa (41st Autumn Festival); Primera Sangre (CDN and TNC, 2024) and Vendrán los alienígenas y tendrán tus ojos (Nave 10 at El Matadero, 2025). She has also developed dramaturgies for interdisciplinary companies, such as Les Impuxibles (Suite TOC núm. 6, FAM and Harakiri). She has a PhD in Communication and a master’s degree in Performing Arts Practice and Visual Culture.
